Drawception is a free browser-based game which mimics the game mechanics of the ‘Telephone Game’. For those who don’t know the Telephone game, or Chinese whisper for some, it’s a game where players pass a message (a short phrase of some kind) until it reaches the last person involved in the game then reveals a distorted version of the original message. Results are often hilariously miscomprehended by friends who don't listen or explain well.

So, how does drawception go?

Drawception took the telephone game concept and added drawing into the mix. Their website explains how to play this game well:

  1. A player begins a game with a short phrase. For example, "A cow jumping over the moon".
  2. A randomly chosen player then draws that phrase (within 10 minutes using simple tools).
  3. Another random player describes the new drawing.
  4. Yet another player draws the new description.
  5. Steps 3 and 4 repeat until 12 unique players have participated.

The drawings and descriptions are then stitched together and everyone can view the often unexpected and hilarious results!

Yes! They stitch everything together and displays the whole shenanigan so we can laugh with our buddies... or alone if you don't have any real friends. But don't you worry, Drawception is a social website where you can play with strangers, discover talents, and meet new online buddies.

Everyone wins!

Drawing session of 12 people, which I contributed a drawing...

Graphics: 5/5

The ultimate game walkthrough

Drawception is not a game where you rate it on how good art assets were designed or animated. I rated the graphics based on it’s design functionality and efficiency. And I say, it's pretty efficient. All the buttons you need to play the game is found side by side at the most noticeable places. There’s also a big ass introduction and tutorial of the game for newbies.

The game's drawing tools are pretty basic, and all that you will ever need too.

Audio: N/A

I don't think adding audio to a website is a good idea. Thank goodness they never thought of adding one to Drawception's website because that would be annoying. A better idea, go to youtube or something then set your own motivational music while you play instead!

Just a suggestion

Fun Factor: 4/5

Drawception has a lot of factors that makes it a fun game. For one, everything is really random. The moment you start playing you see hilarious descriptions or drawings you might want to interpret. Then, after the drawing session is over you see anonymous people 'liking' your work and some commenting about how funny your interpretation was.

That was supposedly flubber eating some raisins, oh well.

Next, the drawing session becomes quite the talk of the website and you're really proud you've been part of such hot topic. But this is not usually the case, sometimes it frustrates you that some people don't like your drawing or how they tell you, that you destroyed their supposedly awesome game...

Or maybe that's how you define fun.
Replayability: 5/5

As long as you like socializing with other people, you'll find this game infinitely playable. To top it all off, they've added a scoring system where they count how many 'likes' you've accumulated ever since you started playing Drawception. It will be something that keeps you motivated to play since you can track how much you have progressed.

Other people will see it too, so they'll know how likeable you are.

Overall: 5/5

You will love Drawception if you like scribbling random stuff and socializing with people online, normal ones and trolls alike. Socializing is key to fully appreciate the game, and the output of every session is something to wait for...

Add batman in the mix and you’ll surely gain views!

Speaking of waiting, one drawing session takes time to complete. It depends on the site’s traffic or how interesting the session you were in. I burn a lot of time staring at my computer screen and waiting for my game sessions to complete, refreshing every 2 minutes or so. But in the end, when people start talking about the drawings you made it’s totally worth it.

Now go check it out!!!
